3 Reasons to Move to Buffalo!

3 Reasons to Move to Buffalo

Over the last 5 years or so, Buffalo has been making a steady comeback in major ways. From our beloved Buffalo Bills to our delicious locally owned eateries, Buffalo has without-a-doubt become a hotspot for millennials to live, work & play. Whenever someone asks me “Why move to Buffalo?!” I always give them these 3 main reasons:

1. Housing Affordability

According to Forbes citing realtor.com, Buffalo ranks as number 9 out the 10 most affordable cities in the United States.  In 2020, the median listing price in Buffalo was $184,000.  This is a whole $156,000 BELOW the national median listing price. A 30-year fixed mortgage on a $184,000 house with 20% down at current interest rates (including taxes & insurance) is roughly $860/month…why rent a tiny apartment when you can own an entire HOUSE for half the monthly cost?!

2. THE FOOD

Anyone who has ever been to ANY local restaurant in Buffalo knows this as a fact: the food here is superior. I could type a 12-page dissertation on which restaurants and different kinds of food, etc etc..but in Buffalo, you simply cannot go wrong with a local pizzeria for the most amazing pizza & wings (with BLUE CHEESE, NOT RANCH!) you’ll ever eat in your life. Any Buffalonian, including myself, will live & die by that statement. My personal favorites are DiPaolo’s white pizza with banana peppers, and Mattina’s cheese and pepperoni pizza well done with extra sauce… you can thank me later!  But, if you’re not a big pizza & wings fan, don’t worry – there are hundreds of locally owned restaurants to choose from for a top-tier meal.

3. The People

Buffalo isn’t called “The City of Good Neighbors” for no reason. Being from Buffalo, I might be slightly biased, but this city is filled with some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. If your car is stuck in the snow, you can guarantee anyone who sees you will pull over and help you to safety. Buffalo has a sense of community like no other, you just have to come here to find out for yourself!

If any of the above persuaded you to make a move to Buffalo, 716 Realty Group is here to warmly welcome you to The City of Good Neighbors!
